Here are two images of my desktop computer setup. It took me a few months to get all of the components, but since a large portion of my time is spent here, it was definitely worthwhile. My vision when buying the components was to focus on ergonomics (no cheaping out on this cost) and not buying a cutting edge system (saving some money here). A good chair is very important and lasts years. In comparision, a very powerful computer system is obtainable for around $600 and will be near obsolete soon enough.

I am very pleased to announce that I am now my own boss! I have received a business license to work from home and have two very good clients.

This is something I am very excited about and so is Tressa. I have done a lot of research into tax information, accounting, the whole rigamarole and know that it is not only a viable option, but actually should increase my earnings and flexibility. I know that I have the discipline and skill necessary to be successful on my own business.

What I'm Listening To

Chimes of Freedom - The Songs of Bob Dylan
Various
2012

I am a big fan of Bob Dylan. He is one of the greatest songwriters of all time. This is a brand new album featuring 75 cover songs each by a different artist and then the title track Chimes of Freedom by Dylan himself.

The album is for charity, celebrating 50 years of Amnestry International, so it is for a good cause.

As with any cover album collection, I expect most songs will pale to the originals, but if even ten songs hold a candle to the originals, that will be tremendous. I also hope to be exposed to a few songs that I had previously passed over or never heard before.

Notable Tracks:
El Camino
Black Keys
2011

The Black Keys have released a brand new album, El Camino. I have not heard it yet, but as I thought that their 2010 album Brothers was the best of the year, I am really looking forward to it.

Update: This is another great album from the Black Keys. Unfortunately it was released in December which I believe lowers your chances of being ranked high on "Best of the Year" lists. Catchy songs, most of which could be singles. You can feel Danger Mouse's effect on the band on a few tracks.

Notable Tracks: lonely boy, gold on the ceiling, little black submarines, money maker, sister
Kensington Heights
Constantines
2008

This is a great album released in April 2008, which has been over three and a half years now. I enjoy the album from start to finish and hopefully a new album is in the works.

Notable Tracks: Hard Feelings, Million Star Hotel, Trans Canada, Credit River, I Will Not Sing a Hateful Song
